Elder Meals Program
Gathering Thunder Foundation is excited to sponsor the Pawating Megedwin Kikajiik Elder Meals Program.
Rhonda Loonsfoot, Director, and Suzi Day, Cook lead this wonderful and needed program. Currently, this program serves two nutritious meals per week to 54 elders in Grand Rapids, MI.
Our Gathering Thunder Foundation Community now has the opportunity to sponsor an elder or contribute to this all-year-round program.
Average cost, including food and packaging for 54*delivered meals is $500.00 per week.
*Pre-Covid 19, meals were served to elders inside a community building where plates and silverware are available at no cost. The cost for packaging the meals in an appropriate container is costly. Once the community is safe to gather in the building, the cost will be reduced.
